Floating Support Services

BHT’s Floating Support services play an integral part in Brighton and Hove City Council’s (BHCC) move on and prevention strategies offering support to a range of vulnerable people either in the community or their own homes. Fully funded by the Supporting People program, provided free of charge to clients, we provide support to over 450 people at any one time, tailoring our services to individual needs.

BHT’s floating support services aim to provide clients with as much choice and control over their support and the way they receive it as possible. The services help people identify their goals and how they may achieve them.

Response Services

Response Services comprise of Crisis Response, a service providing a focused 9 week intervention to vulnerable people resettling or whose tenancies are at risk of breaking down; Support Response, providing floating support to people with mental health problems living in social housing; support via the local Rough Sleepers Initiative, providing ex-rough sleepers’ self contained accommodation.

Support4Housing

Support4Housing is a joint venture between BHT and Southdown Housing Association, and provides the majority of band 4 support in BHCC’s Integrated Support Pathway. It supports 300 vulnerable people from a drop in based service with some limited floating support available.

Peer2Peer

Peer2Peer was the first partnership project between BHT and Southdown Housing Association and the success of this relationship has led to further joint working. It offers a 'self management' support service, placing value on people sharing their experiences to support each other without the need for support services in the longer term.
