Mental Health Services

One in six of the adult population experiences mental ill health at any one time. BHT meet diverse need by offering a range of mental health support services in a variety of accommodation settings, to over a hundred people across Brighton. Most services have access to out of hours crisis support.

Portland Road is registered care provision with a strong reputation in the City for its successful work with people with severe and enduring mental health problems. The Sackville Gardens Project offers a unique combination of registered care and supported housing, enabling clients to progress through stages of independence whilst retaining continuity of support. One of its outreach houses, Buckingham Road provides an innovative, abstinence based dual diagnosis scheme. The Route One Project, BHT’s largest mental health Project’s specialisms include a high support scheme and women only provision, supporting 53 people in both self contained and shared accommodation.

From the begining of December 2007, the Threshold Women's Counselling Service will be joining BHT as our latest mental health service. Threshold has been providing excellent services for women and by women since the early 1980's and everyone at BHT is delighted that Threshold has decided to join BHT.
