Meet our marathon runners.

BHT is lucky to have not one but two fantastic marathon runners getting ready to hit the roads of Brighton in the Brighton marathon on the 18th April.

Tom Bedford

Tom, aged 62, ran his first marathon 10 years ago in London, again in support of BHT. Through his company, BEP Consulting Engineers, he has worked on many projects on behalf of BHT, currently advising us on the refurbishment of First Base Day Centre, as well as consulting on flagship developments such as BHT's Phase One and Recovery Projects.
“I am 10 years older and the challenge is all the more daunting. However, the need for the services provided by BHT are greater than ever. I have always been impressed by their work and I am aware that homelessness, mental health problems and addiction can affect anybody, no matter what their class or background. Putting myself through a few hours of misery to raise money to help BHT will be worth the pain, every step of the way".

Maggie Hodge

Maggie, also aged 62, is running the Brighton marathon for BHT’s Threshold project. Maggie became aware of Thresholds work during her time as a health visitor in Brighton and Hove where she was astounded by the quality of the services Threshold provided.
“I am 62 years old now and having found a new love for running a couple of years ago I felt the need to set myself a challenge. Not only will the Brighton marathon be a great personal challenge for me but it will help to raise vital funds for Threshold. It has been a tough few years for this fantastic service and I feel proud to be doing my bit to support them in them in the absolutely brilliant work that they do every day and the difference they make to women’s lives.

Please show your support by sponsoring Tom and Maggie for as little or as much as you can. All the money raised will help homeless, insecurely housed and vulnerable men and women in your community.
