We are sorry to announce that Bike It Brighton 2020 is cancelled.
We are very sorry to announce that, with a heavy heart, Bike It Brighton 2020 is cancelled. Given the current Coronavirus situation, and taking on board guidance from Government, we felt that it was impossible to continue the planning and delivery of the event.
At the moment we are looking into the possibility of delivering Bike It Brighton remotely as a virtual event, where participants can clock up cycling miles on an exercise bike or on a cycling route of their choice. We will update you on our progress shortly and would be delighted if you were able to take part and raise funds remotely.
However, the pandemic is threatening the existence of many planned events. Brighton Housing Trust is a registered charity and Bike It Brighton is a key fundraising event in our charity calendar. The event was expected to raise £15,000 towards First Base so that vulnerable people sleeping rough in the City can access hot showers, clean clothes and vital support to move them away from homelessness.
In the spirit of our generous, open and supportive city, we ask that if you are already signed up to the event that you consider donating your entry fee if you possibly can. Your help will greatly support the work that we do and will help to safeguard the future of vital BHT support services such as First Base.
We understand that in these difficult times some people may not be able to donate their entry fee. If you would like a full refund then please email [email protected] to arrange this.
Should you have any questions or concerns then do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope to update you soon with news of a new, planned virtual event.
