Job Description

Shore House is an innovative service which provides accommodation and intensive one-to-one and group support to people with complex mental health needs, including those with a dual diagnosis. The service works proactively and flexibly with people to build their skills and confidence, enabling them to move into more independent accommodation within an 18-month timeframe.

Respite @ Shore is a respite service that aims to prevent escalation of suicidal feelings and self-harm in people living in the Brighton and Hove area who have mental health problems, problematic substance use and/or complex needs. It seeks to provide an empowering and preventative service to those who may without it require hospital admission/use of a statutory crisis mental health services.

Client involvement and empowerment are central to our approach.

Bank Cover Worker

Salary: £9.53 per hour between 8.30am and 10.00pm, £12.66 per hour for waking night shifts worked between 10.00pm and 8.30am. Holiday pay is an additional 12.07%. Double time is paid for shifts worked on bank holidays.

Based in Brighton

5.5% employer pension contribution (reviewed annually)

We are looking for staff to work day time shifts (including evenings until 10.30pm), and are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who would be available to work waking night shifts (10pm-8.30am).

Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience of:

  • Experience of supporting clients with mental health issues, substance misuse or complex needs
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures

PLEASE NOTE:

Shore House is a CQC registered care home. The Government have introduced new regulations regarding working within CQC registered care homes.  From 11 November 2021, you will not be permitted to work at this service unless you are able to provide evidence that you have been fully vaccinated against Covid19 or can provide evidence of medical exemption before starting employment at Shore House.
