BHT’s First Base Day Centre operates in the centre of Brighton for the provision of support to assist people who are homeless or vulnerably housed to move on from the streets or insecure accommodation and realise their aspirations.
First Base operates client-centred specialist services to support people to address their healthcare needs, start realising their aspirations through work, learning and leisure and find a place they can call home.
We are looking to appoint an operational manager who, with the deputy manager, can lead the staff team in the provision of this very busy project.
The post holder will be responsible for service delivery, development and all day-to-day issues of management. They will be expected to take the lead in liaison with external agencies and promotion of the work of the service and will ensure that the project meets the local community and funders’ requirements, whilst directing, supporting and working with the operational team of paid, voluntary and intern staff.
The Operational Manager will have excellent management, planning and development skills, as well as experience of meeting financial and other targets, coupled with good communication and team management skills.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues people with multiple and complex needs face and a commitment to meeting the needs of adults who are homeless.
