16– 22 May was Mental Health Awareness Week, with the theme ‘relationships’, which included a casual drop in and interactive activities around the theme of loving kindness, which both underpins the work they do, and supports this year’s mental health awareness campaign of building relationships.
Lisa Rodrigues CBE, writer and mental health campaigner, and the former chief executive at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust was guest speaker, sharing her personal mental health experiences.
BHT’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Service and Threshold aim to support people to improve and maintain positive mental health and wellbeing. They offer counselling, workshops, group activities and a women only counselling and drop-in service at Threshold.
It was wonderful to meet everyone at the Brighton Housing Trust wellbeing service event today.
I was invited to inspire people. But it was they who inspired me.
People who live with the challenges of mental illness are heroes and heroines. They have extraordinary assets to celebrate, rather than deficits to pity or ignore.
