The team at BHT Finding Futures, one of our Hastings based projects, will walk from Eastbourne Pier to Hastings Pier to raise money and are asking people to join them.

All the money raised through sponsorship will be used to take learners out to experience new things in and around their community to improve their confidence and self esteem.

Finding Futures offers a personal, self development and motivational programme, for all ages, where people can improve their Life Skills alongside the opportunity to gain meaningful qualifications in English, Maths, ICT, Employability skills and a wide range of vocational qualifications.

Finding Futures took its learners out on a picnic last year and the feedback was very positive with 100% of learners saying they had enjoyed their time and were looking forward to going again.

After the picnic the tutors saw an increase in the learner’s motivation in the classroom and believe that more regular activities throughout the year will help them to keep improving both in and out of the classroom.

The walk will take place on Saturday 25 April at 10am from Eastbourne Pier.

Many of our learners never get a chance to get out and about to experience different places and learn new things.

We would like to be able to offer our learners a wide range of activities from outdoor pursuits, interaction with animals and visits to places of interest.

We want to help them to develop their confidence, personal effectiveness and employability while at the same time having fun doing things they probably have never done before.

We hope to raise £500 from the walk and this will enable us to plan lots of exciting activities for our learners.

The 15 mile walk will be lots of fun so if you are looking for a new challenge then please sign up to join us on a walk that really will help to make a difference to peoples lives.
