Local Artist, Tom Stroud, is holding an art exhibition where a number of artists will exhibit their work to support BHT’s First Base Day Centre.
First Base offers a range of services to support people who are sleeping rough or insecurely housed in Brighton and Hove. As well as providing food, showers, clean and dry clothes, and support to get people off the streets, First Base provides opportunities for work experience and learning.
In partnership with other agencies, First Base also provides dentistry, podiatry, nursing interventions, mental health advice & support, and accommodation & relocation services.
The event will take place at the Lounge Bar, Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AD on Thursday 31 March from 7-11pm.
I’d been thinking for a while about what I could do to help the homeless, I always try and buy food. Whilst that helps, I wanted to create more of an impact. I knew enough generous, humble and creative people so thought the art exhibition would be a great opportunity to help further.
Tom Stroud, Event Organiser
We are very grateful for the support of the community. Events like this raise money for the service, helping people who are sleeping rough move away from the streets.
