BHT is calling for volunteers to join them on Saturday 13 December to shake a tin and raise money for First Base Day Centre.
We are looking for people to help us raise much needed funds for the day centre which provides basic support such as food, showers and clean and dry clothes, as well as to help people move on from homelessness and into accommodation.
A mix of local councillors, BHT’s Chief Executive Andy Winter and staff, donors and supporters have already signed up to spend a few hours of their day on Saturday to raise money but we hope that more people will come forward to help.
If you would like to support BHT by shaking a tin on Saturday then please contact Liz Davies on 01273 645464 or contact Liz via email
If you would like to make a donation to First Base Day Centre to support homeless men and women this Christmas, you can donate online or by sending a text with the words FBAS70£10 to 70070 or sending a cheque made payable to ‘BHT’ to 144 London Road, Brighton, BN1 4PH.
We are looking forward to getting out onto the streets of Brighton on Saturday and raising money for our Day Centre.
Increasingly, the people who are turning to First Base for help are not our traditional clients, but people who for the first time are facing the very real possibility of using food banks, losing their homes because of redundancy, ill health, relationship breakdown, zero hour contracts, etc.
Some never thought that they would ever need a service for homeless people.
First Base works with people to rebuild their lives after the devastation of homelessness, helping them to move away from homelessness and towards more positive futures.
Andy Winter, BHT Chief Executive
