BHT Encourages Voter Registration

BHT is encouraging its tenants and clients to register to vote in the upcoming General Election.

A promotional display is at head office reception notifying people that their vote matters and includes registration packs.

Staff are assisting people to register online and by paper before the deadline of the 22 May.

Staff and clients at BHT’s First Base Day Centre are also getting involved in encouraging voter registration, with clients encouraged to register in order to have their voices heard.

Even if someone does not have a fixed address, for example, if they are sofa surfing, even rough sleeping, they can still register to vote.

At BHT we promote equality, especially when we are working with some of the most vulnerable citizens in the community.

Linda Bates, BHT’s Reception & Resources Coordinator.
