BHT Chief Executive, Andy Winter, has been shortlisted from over 200 entries for the 2014 Housing Heroes Awards for his leadership of BHT with a particular focus on the shipping container homes.
Andy is now one of six left in the running for the award of Inspirational Leader of the Year.
The event, organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) attracted an amazing response with submissions from the length and breadth of the UK.
The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in Manchester on Monday 23 June hosted by one of Britain’s greatest Paralympic athletes and one of the most gifted and courageous sportswomen of her generation, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
The public will now decide the winner by voting for their most inspirational leader.
Congratulations to all the shortlisted finalists. The housing world is full of heroes, from frontline and back office housing professionals to board members and tenants, who are making a big difference in their neighbourhoods and communities. These awards aim to make sure they get the recognition they deserve for their energy, passion and dedication.
Grainia Long, Chief Executive, Chartered Institute of Housing
All the finalists have done incredibly well in getting this far because the standard of entries this year was stronger than ever. Congratulations to Andy for being shortlisted.

In Brighton Housing Trust we are fortunate to have excellent leaders at every level of the organisation. A successful organisation depends on excellence by many dedicated and skilled staff. I am lucky to lead such an organisation and my nomination is nothing more than a recognition of the leadership of many others and excellence within BHT.
