Mayor Signs UpOn Sunday 25 June 2017 cyclists of all ages will take to their pedals at Preston Park Velodrome to cycle as many laps as possible in aid of First Base Day Centre.

The clock for this extraordinary challenge starts at 7am and runs throughout the day, with cyclists aiming to reach the combined target of 66,792 laps, in just 12 hours!

Whether you’re 4 years old or 94, everyone is welcome! This is a family-friendly event, with various slots for children, adults, hand cyclists, and club cyclists.

How many laps can you, your family, your work colleagues or your cycling club pledge? 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 laps? Set yourself a personal challenge!

Register today to take part in Around the World Cycle Challenge

BHT strongly advises all participants to wear cycling helmets. Cyclists who choose not to, do so at their own risk.

Don’t own a bike? Don’t worry! Why not take the challenge on an exercise bike at your gym? All we need to know is how many kilometres you cycle so that we can add it to our grand total.

Would you like to help?

We are looking for lots of volunteers to help us run the day. We are asking volunteers to commit to two or three hour slots in various roles including stewarding, marshalling, registering participants, recording laps and more general site management.

“Every single person who takes part in the Around the World Cycle challenge will be helping us to make a real difference to the lives of people who need our services. It was with the support of the community that last year we were able to help 306 people to move off the streets.”
