BHT’s Annual Sussex in Bloom Gardening Competition, sponsored by BHT’s gardening contractors Southern Land Services, saw clients and tenants across BHT transform their individual and communal gardens.

In St Leonards-on-Sea residents won a £30 garden voucher, first prize for turning the path down the side of their large Victorian House into a glorious garden, giving them and their neighbours a great deal of pleasure.
The runner-up’s won £10 vouchers and included residents from the Move On project, clearing the garden, cutting the hedges, liberating overgrown plants and creating a small flower and vegetable garden. Residents of Sackville Gardens worked with staff to produce a wild flower patch and an Insect Hotel.
Residents at the Recovery Project transformed their large courtyard garden and a resident of the Causeway Brighton created a beautiful haven of flowers up his steps. In St Leonards-on-Sea a resident dug out the back garden of their house, restoring and painting the back fence and buying plants, lights and bird feeders.
