Birthday fundraiser for the Choir with No Name Brighton

Choir with no nameOn Saturday 21st September, Choir with No Name Brighton will be filling All Saints Church, Hove with feel good, foot-stomping classics from across the decades to celebrate their first birthday.

They will be backed by a full live band and joined by special guests, and all funds raised will go towards supporting homeless people in Brighton.

The Choir with No Name is a UK charity that runs choirs for homeless and marginalised people, and they partnered with BHT to launch a Brighton choir in August last year. The choir get together at One Church in the city centre every Monday evening to rehearse, and sit down for a hot meal together afterwards.

It is a vital support network for some of the most isolated members of the community, and is a safe, non-judgmental space where members can experience the joy of singing together as well as the chance to grow in confidence, make friends and get back on their feet.

The concert will feature music from The Beatles to Blondie, Primal Scream to Fleet Foxes, and Jackie Wilson to The Beach Boys, as well as a special showcase of songs by Brighton artists. There will be plenty of opportunities for the audience to sing along and join in the fun, as well as to hear more about the amazing work the choir does to support the homeless community in Brighton. Money raised from the evening will go towards the cost of the choir, meaning they can continue to run weekly rehearsals, all year round.

Choir Manager Alex Procter said:

We’re so excited to have reached this milestone – one year of CWNN Brighton! In that time, we’ve welcomed more than 150 people who’ve experienced homelessness or marginalisation through our doors. Together we’ve gigged across the South-East, run some amazing outreach workshops for those at risk of homelessness, and sung our hearts out every week. Our community is one of real friendship, support and joy, founded in creativity and singing. We can’t wait to celebrate and share this at our gig!

Tickets for this fantastic gig cost just £8 or £5 concessions and can be purchased online here:
