Finding Futures has held an open day for people who are interested in gaining life skills, English and maths qualifications, employability skills and much more.
The BHT project works with people of any age who need help and support with their learning.
Hastings Mayor, Cllr Alan Roberts, and the Leader of Hastings Borough Council, Cllr Jeremy Birch, attended the event to support Finding Futures and to celebrate the launch of the Finding Futures Ambassadors, a scheme set up by a group of learners who have achieved so much at Finding Futures over the past year that they wanted to give something back.
The Ambassadors are responsible for a range of activities such as tours of the service and explaining how the service works, attending events and sharing their experiences of the service and how it has helped them to move forward with their lives.
It was lovely to meet the Finding Futures Ambassadors and to launch this initiative on behalf of the people of Hastings and St Leonard’s. It was inspiring to listen to the Ambassadors, Debbie, Diane and David, and to learn more about the journey they have each travelled. They clearly are assets to BHT Sussex and to Finding Futures.
Cllr Alan Roberts, Mayor of Hastings
Finding Futures plays a vital role in Hastings providing basic skills often to people whose first experience of education wasn’t successful. I hope the project goes from strength to strength. I was very pleased to meet with the ambassadors who themselves have succeeded in the FF project and whose task is to recruit more people who can benefit from this Project.
