BHT has celebrated Volunteers Week (1st – 7th June) with a thank you event for its volunteers at the Mayor’s Parlour.
25 volunteers attended the event where they received certificates from the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Bill Randall, to thank them for their hard work and commitment to BHT services. BHT Chief Executive, Andy Winter, praised the contribution of volunteers.
I am so pleased to have been asked to present everyone with their certificates today. I am a long standing supporter of BHT and I am well aware of the hard work that volunteers do throughout the year.
Volunteers Week is a great opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your dedication to BHT.

I have been volunteering for one year now and feel that I am making a positive contribution to people’s lives. BHT has helped me to gain good experience that will eventually help me to get a job in the sector.

Volunteering has helped me to give something back after being through the detox project myself. It gives me a sense of self-esteem and self-worth.

BHT had 103 people volunteering in our services between April 2011 and March 2012.
Some have volunteered for just a matter of weeks, another for over eight years.
The contribution of each is much valued and appreciated.
