Hastings and Rye MP Amber Rudd has joined BHT for a double celebration to mark Finding Futures fifth anniversary and news of a Big Lottery funding success.
Finding Futures, a personal, self-development and motivational programme for people of all ages, has supported over 500 learners since 2008.
The variety of learning activities has helped participants to improve their life skills, gain qualifications and secure employment opportunities.
The service has now received £156,672 by the Big Lottery Fund to deliver a new project which will reach the most excluded women in Hastings and Rother.
The Women’s Involvement Network (WIN) will run as part of the Finding Futures Programme over four years, increasing the confidence and skills of disadvantaged women in the area and empowering them to overcome the barriers they face to employment.
It’s great to see another inspiring initiative from BHT. I am delighted that it will be dedicated to reaching excluded women. We are so fortunate to have this new project in our great town.
Amber Rudd, MP
Finding Futures has grown from strength to strength over the last five years and I feel honoured to have witnessed so many learners gaining the skills, experience and confidence they need to move forward with their lives.
Receiving funding for our new project, WIN, is fantastic news and we feel confident that we can deliver the project to the same high standards with fantastic results.
MP Amber Rudd presented us with our first Big Lottery cheque two years ago so I’m very pleased she was able to present us with another cheque on this occasion and join us for some birthday cake.
