Preparations Underway for Support Campaign

Support4Housing is preparing for Support Matters Month, a National Housing Federation campaign that aims to raise the profile of important local care and support services.

A variety of events will be held at the Support4Housing drop in centre at 144 London Road, to support the campaign that will run throughout November.

Included in the Support Matters Month agenda will be a ‘Changes to Benefits’ question and answer session to help clients to understand the upcoming changes to the welfare benefit system and to raise awareness around the reforms. This will launch a long term programme of events and activities to help people improve their skills and manage the impact of the benefit changes.

An online budgeting workshop and a mini oral history exhibition looking at the history of homelessness will also be available for clients during the month long campaign.

We are really excited about Support Matters Month. It is a great opportunity for us to organise lots of different events and workshops that will benefit our clients whilst supporting a brilliant campaign.

In the South East, supported housing provides more than 2,200 services and over 95,000 people are helped to live independent lives.

Support Matters Month allows us to shout about these achievements and the good work support services do every day.
