A team of young people from the Prince’s Trust have worked together to collect summer essentials to help men and women who are homeless.
BHT’s First Base Day Centre were in desperate need of sun cream and light summer clothes to help their clients to stay safe in the sun during these hot months.
The team from the Prince’s Trust collected the items over a two week period by calling local businesses, asking friends and families for donations and asking the general public.
BHT’s First Base Day Centre are asking for donations of sun cream, summer clothes and toiletries throughout the summer months.
If you would like to make a donation then please contact Claud Cohen on 01273 326844.
When the team got involved with BHT for our team challenge I learnt the hard parts of living on the streets.
First Base was lovely and it’s nice that this community can go there but still sad that they’re homeless.
I made lots of phone calls to companies to request donations which was enjoyable but I felt really good buying the sun cream.
My brother was homeless so I wanted to help.
I was actually surprised how generous people were but it’s obvious there’s more people can do.
Georgia Wolfe, Prince’s Trust
First Base would like to wholeheartedly thank the amazing efforts of the young people on the Prince’s Trust programme in collecting these essential items for us.
People who sleep on the street have no escape form the dangers of the sun and our supplies of sun cream diminish very quickly.
It’s so important to our clients that they are able to have access to toiletries and clean clothes. It gives people the confidence they need to move on with looking for employment, housing and training opportunities.
