New Office for the Home Works Team in Eastbourne

Councillor Bill Bentley, the Lead Member for Adult Social Care on East Sussex County Council, has officially opened a new BHT Sussex and Southdown Housing Association office for Home Works in Eastbourne.

The new office is home to the Home Works team, a BHT Sussex and Southdown Housing Association partnership working with vulnerable men and women, including families, in the Eastbourne and Wealden area. The project is funded through the Supporting People programme of East Sussex County Council.

Home Works offers a mix of direct support and guidance to clients in their homes to help them with their support needs. The team have moved to the larger offices so that they can work together as one, helping to support vulnerable people, including families, to move forward, towards more positive futures.

Bill BentleyI was very pleased to open the new office for the Eastbourne and Wealden Home Works team. I am aware of the work undertaken by the team, and the back up provided by the two parent organisations, Southdown Housing and BHT Sussex.

By bringing everyone together under one roof means that the teams can be more integrated and through reduced overheads there is better value for money. I wish them well and look forward to the service going from strength to strength.

I would finally pay tribute to the hard-working staff of Home Works without whose efforts none of this would be possible.

Sarah BrayThe co-location of the Home Works teams of Southdown Housing and BHT Sussex re-enforces the strong relationship between our two organisations. We are proud of the excellent service provided to residents of Eastbourne and Wealden by the Home Works team.

Bob ThompsonThe service enables clients to achieve economic wellbeing, enjoy life, achieve ambitions, make a positive contribution to their community and better manage their physical and emotional wellbeing.

The move means that we have been able to bring together the teams employed by Southdown and BHT Sussex, ensuring that clients have a seamless service because they don’t worry if the support is provided by Southdown or BHT Sussex. They just see a Home Works worker, and that is, in itself, a mark of quality.
