Take on a virtual challenge and raise funds to help safeguard the future of our services.
Each day our dedicated team of key workers continue to support vulnerable people who rely on our help. In these extraordinary and challenging times, we are expecting to see a significant loss in charitable income. We are asking everyone who takes part in the Superhero Challenge to aim to fundraise £75, the combined number of years BHT and Sussex Oakleaf have been operating.
You can give us, and the clients who need us, a lifeline by becoming a fundraising Superhero this June and supporting our Covid-19 appeal.
What is the Superhero Challenge?
The Superhero Challenge replaces our annual event, Bike It Brighton, which sadly we had to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic. Taking part in the Superhero Challenge is easy:
- Choose your Superhero Challenge! This can be anything you want to achieve in June. You could cook up a storm with a bake-a-thon, run a mile each day for a month, brave the shave or ask your friends to set you a personal challenge each week. We’ve got plenty of great ideas in our Superhero Challenge guide to get you started.
- Set up a JustGiving page here to start raising funds.

Your challenge can be whatever you want it to be, just remember to follow Government guidelines on social distancing if you're doing it outside of your home.
What is the significance of the £75 fundraising target?
On 1 April 2020, Sussex Oakleaf merged with BHT to become one organisation. Combined, the two organisations have worked for 75 years providing essential frontline services to help people overcome homelessness, mental ill health, poverty and addiction. Pledging to fundraise £75 will help protect the future of our services so we can continue to help those who need us most.
