Leave a Legacy
Your legacy is an extraordinary opportunity to make a lasting difference and give something back to your community.
Whatever your age or circumstances, leaving a Will ensures that your wishes, your loved ones and the causes you care about are provided for after you are gone.
We are extremely grateful to those who have left us a bequest, or have included a gift to us in their will.
If you are thinking of leaving a legacy gift to us in your Will, you can rest assured that it is relatively easy and inexpensive to do so.
How do I set up a legacy gift?
We recommend that you arrange to talk this through with an independent expert, such as a solicitor.
They will have the legal expertise to ensure that your wishes are clearly expressed and carried out.
The first thing you need to do is decide what type of legacy gift you would like to leave us. The three most common gift options are a:
Residuary Gift
You leave us part of or all of the remainder of your legacy after your estate has been settled.
Pecuniary Gift
You specify a set amount or percentage of your estate to be given to us.
Specific Bequest
You donate to us a specific item, such as furniture, jewellery, art work or even property.
Once you have decided what type of gift you would like to leave us, you need to make this clear in your Will.
Whether you are writing your Will from scratch, or whether you would like to include your legacy request in your existing Will, we recommend you seek legal advice on how to do this.
