Book your place at free Rent Smart Housing conference next Monday

We are pleased to invite you to the next annual Rent Smart conference, which will take place on Monday 11th November, 2pm-5.30pm. It will be held at the University of Sussex, Refectory Road, Bramber House, Conference Centre-3rd Floor, BN1 9QU.

Rent Smart Brighton and Hove is a partnership organisation, of which BHT is a member, aiming to make renting better for all those across the city.

The focus of this year’s conference is housing legislation: past, present and future. We will discuss the impact of recent and proposed legislative changes on renters, landlords and letting agents.

The conference will consist of speakers sharing their own experiences and knowledge of the impact of legislative changes, via a panel Q&A session with tenants, landlords and letting agents. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their housing experiences and to debate and discuss legislation changes, such as the Tenant Fees Act and Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act and the proposed abolishment of Section 21.

The Rent Smart Conference is for anyone who is interested in housing issues in Brighton and Hove and who has any involvement in private rented housing, whether living in, managing or owning it. It is also aimed at those giving housing advice or trying to find homes for people.

The Conference is free, and is an excellent opportunity to hear about the latest initiatives in the city, discuss challenges and network with other groups and people, so that we can work collaboratively to support people renting in our city.
