We’re pleased to share that following close working with Brighton and Hove City Council, BHT Sussex has agreed to continue to operate its Route One service in a remodelled format, successfully preventing the closure of a vital supported housing scheme for people with mental health needs. This is positive news for the city, the residents and staff of the service.
With one in three providers having closed schemes last year, due to funding pressures, and 60% anticipating further closures, this outcome highlights what can be achieved through strong partnership and shared commitment.
BHT Sussex is a proud supporter of the Save Our Supported Housing campaign, which calls for urgent, long-term investment in supported housing to protect these lifeline services for the future. We are pleased that our partnership working with BHCC has achieved a positive result for the city’s supported housing stock.
