BHT Sussex have been chosen as one of the Mayor of Burgess Hill’s charities of choice for his mayoral term, alongside St Peter and St James Hospice!

To announce his charities, Mayor Stuart Condie hosted a cream tea launch event at Burgess Hill Town Council last Friday. The event was well attended by Burgess Hill Town Councillors, local businesses, supporters and the MP for Mid Sussex, Alison Bennett.
BHT Sussex was represented by Chief Executive, David Chaffey, Senior Manager, Emma Gould and Senior Recovery Worker, Jan Spiller. All three attendees spoke at the event, particularly highlighting the services in and around Burgess Hill, including Pathfinder, Mental Health Recovery and Mid Sussex Supported Housing. This was also a great opportunity to highlight the new Pathfinder contract we will be implementing in December to expand the service further into West Sussex.
After listening to talks from BHT Sussex, St Peter and St James Hospice, and the Mayor himself, everyone enjoyed tea, coffee, scones with jam and cream, as well as some delicious gluten free brownies.
It was a great opportunity to highlight BHT Sussex services in an area where we are less well known and answer questions from local people. We are looking forward to attending more fundraising events over Stuart’s term and working alongside Burgess Hill Town Council.
