Psychologically Informed Environment
The professionalism of our staff means we can address complex challenges in a holistic way, notably through taking a psychologically informed approach with our training model for all staff.
In our services, this is about taking into account the psychological makeup of our clients in the way that we operate, especially in our work with those who have experienced trauma or have a range of complex needs, including personality disorders.
Our psychologically informed approach has five themes that takes the work we do to new levels and is what we aspire to. These themes are: relationships, staff support and training, physical environments and social spaces, a psychological framework and evidence generating practice.
BHT Sussex trains and uses principles from different approaches in our work to support clients and staff to understand the connection between people’s thoughts, emotions and behaviour.
