Choir With No Name Brighton Growing Strong

The Choir With No Name Brighton, which started up in August (in partnership with BHT), is growing strong, week by week.  Altogether their grand total is around 30 with a range of ages, backgrounds, gender and life stories. Choir members are currently singing songs including 20 Century Boy, Good Vibrations and Lean on Me. The Choir With No Name Brighton is open to anyone who has experienced homelessness, it is absolutely free, followed by a cooked meal. BHT once again had a float at the annual Brighton Pride.  Clients, tenants and Board members had a fabulous time taking part in the parade on an open top bus.

BHT Launches New Podcast ‘BHT Bites’

BHT  has launched a weekly podcast that covers social and public policy and the work of BHT and other charities. BHT chief executive, Andy Winter, said: “It really isn’t as dull as it sounds. Our first podcast was very amusing, yet touched on serious points such as the cost of housing, the Right to Buy and BHT’s recent Cycle Challenge, and the closure of the County Court in Eastbourne. BHT’s Cycle Challenge Event Reached Australia

Cyclists in our Greater Brighton Cycle Challenge clocked up enough miles to reach the Sunshine Coast of Australia, topping over 10,000 miles. Participants cycled 10,246 miles, the equivalent of Brighton to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, in temperatures to rival the Australian Outback. 220 cyclists, including local councillors and MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle, braved intense heat on one of Brighton’s hottest days this year, taking part in 30 mile and 58 mile cycles through the beautiful South Downs, while others collectively cycled over 4,000 laps of the Preston Park Velodrome.
