From 1 October 2026, social landlords like BHT Sussex must publish key information about their homes, spending and performance, under a new government scheme known as STAIRs.
STAIRs stands for Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements. It was introduced to give social housing tenants more rights to access information about how their homes and services are managed.
To support this, we have created a dedicated STAIRs webpage which brings together a wide range of information all in one place. We have organised this information in clear sections, corresponding to the official STAIRs classifications, to make it easier to navigate. The webpage will be regularly reviewed and updated.
From 1 April 2027, STAIRs will expand and tenants will have the right to request specific information directly from their landlord. We will share more information about this closer to the time.
