About the role:
As a Deputy Manager, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission is ‘combating homelessness, creating opportunities, promoting change.’
The Deputy Manager role is to assist the day-to-day management of Portland Road, to take responsibility for specified projects in agreement with the operational manager, and to deputise in their absence. Responsibilities will include operational implementation of all aspects of the support service delivery, including staff support and development, managing referrals and move on, health and safety, maintenance, improving standards and performance, and partnership working. They will also be responsible for ensuring the service operates within budget and meets all key performance indicators. The Deputy Manager will need to understand CQC fundamental standards and implement a strengths-based and solution focussed approach to support and service delivery to people with mental health and/or complex support needs.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the management and performance of a staff team
- Delivering staff inductions, recruitment, support, supervision, reflection, and appraisals
- Contributing all aspects of contract delivery, including meeting or exceeding KPIs and other targets
- Liaising effectively with statutory mental health services, including the coordination of joint support and risk planning
- Contributing to internal and external reports
- Overseeing referrals into the service and ensuring move-on from the service within agreed timeframes
- Overseeing all aspects of Health and Safety
- Contributing to all aspects of service finance, including budgets, management accounts, arrears and voids monitoring and reporting

To be successful in the role of Deputy Manager you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Experience / Applicable skills of managing services for people with mental health and/or complex support needs.
- An understanding of psychologically informed practice and trauma-informed care.
- A proactive, collaborative and results-driven approach, the ability to lead change, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
