First Base secures grant from Community Support Fund

We are delighted to report that First Base, our resource centre for rough sleepers in Brighton and Hove, has secured a donation of 100 Day Saver bus tickets from the Community Support Fund of Brighton and Hove buses.

These bus tickets will support rough sleepers using First Base to access accommodation placements and attend various appointments around the city as they are valid for unlimited all-day travel on all Brighton & Hove Buses.

Debbie Piper, Deputy Manager at First Base, said:

We are so grateful for this generous gift from Brighton and Hove buses. The buses passes will make a huge difference to rough sleepers who access our service, and will help them get to vital appointments around their support needs.

Victoria Garcia of Brighton and Hove buses, said:

We are aware of all the amazing work BHT Sussex does and are proud to partner with them all year round in many ways including with the BHT bus. One of the many reasons for the Community Support Fund is to support financial inclusion as well as overall wellbeing and it is important that we do what we can to help support and connect the communities we are proud to serve.
