Our popular Getting Ready for Work Event is back on Thursday 2nd July at Friend’s Meeting House in Brighton, run by the Accommodation for Work team.
The event brings together local work and learning providers who offer a range of therapeutic, learning, and work-related opportunities to clients, tenants and keyworkers of homeless services and supported accommodation in the city.
Providers at the event offer a wide range of opportunities including volunteering, work placements and internships, further education, careers advice and vocational training. There are also skills based opportunities such as one to one support with literacy, numeracy and IT.
The event also have demonstrations of our Getting Ready for Work calculator which provides a simple tool for hostel residents to see how work impacts on their benefits and rent. Try out the calculator on our website ahead of the event.
Light refreshments will also be provided free of charge. There is a quiet space for those who might need one.
Bus tickets are available for anyone who needs one to access the event. Please contact the Accommodation for Work team on 01273 645493 or email [email protected].
