Homeless Choirs release ‘This is Me’ single on World Homeless Day

The Choir With No Name Brighton is one of four homeless choirs across England who have come together to record the single ‘This is Me’ for World Homeless Day on 10 October. The Brighton based choir, which is run in partnership between BHT and the national Choir with No Name charity, will perform at multiple locations across the city on the day to promote the single release.

On this day the Choir With No Name Brighton will perform the single and other songs at Jubilee Library from 4:30pm – 5pm, and take part in a series of lively promotional flashmobs across the city. The single has been produced in partnership with the global music services company Kobalt, and all profits raised from it will go to the Choir With No Name’s work supporting people affected by homelessness.

Choir member Sandie said of the recording day:

[It was] an incredible experience that I can say eclipses being homeless. This is a sign of things to come – I will be back on my feet! I feel so blessed and humbled to be part of a project that gives people hope. Choir With No Name has saved my life.

Choir Manager Alex Procter said:

The Brighton Choir With No Name is only a year old but we’ve come so far in that time. I’m proud that our members took part in creating this single, which sounds absolutely amazing! Our community is one of real friendship, support and joy, founded in creativity and singing. Please buy the single and help us to continue and grow!

The choir With No Name is also launching an accompanying digital campaign #ThisIsMeinthree, asking people to describe themselves in three words, as well as highlighting the three words chosen by homeless choir members and their accompanying stories.
