Solar panel installation underway for tenants

Work is almost complete at Baird House in St Leonards on the installation of high heat retention storage heaters and solar power via Solshare for twenty-four flats.

Tenants will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of more efficient heating and solar energy, saving on energy bills.

These upgrades are full funded by the ECO4 Scheme and will help tenants keep their homes warmer, manager their costs and upgrade the flats to at least an Energy Performance rating of C (EPC C). This rating will soon be a minimum requirement for all socially rented flats.

Our Asset Management and Housing Services teams have worked hard liaising with tenants to keep them informed as work progresses, and to ensure they can get the most benefit out of their new heating system.

Preparations are underway for a similar project on nineteen flats at Blake Court in Brighton.

David Chaffey, Chief Executive, and Paul Fagan, Head of Housing Services, visited Baird House last week to admire the work (pictured).
